ABOUT THE BREWERY

We are farmers who, not only because of their love for beer, but also because of their long-standing presence in the gastronomy industry, decided to restore the charm of the local, almost forgotten brewery in Nepomuk. The vision is to brew beer from quality ingredients, deliver it to customers in the best quality and be available not only in the Czech Republic. We want to achieve this mainly through our rich experience in gastronomy, farming and marketing.

How was it all

At the beginning of this beer journey we are two families - the Sochor and the Sladek families. Together we started a family project in 2018 - the Golden Cow Brewery. We brew bottom-fermented and top-fermented beers and specials under the guidance of our brewer Žaneta Petružálková.

The roots of the Zlatá kráva brewery go back to the second half of the 19th century, where the Turks' Brewery originally stood on this site. In 1938, the building even served as a bottling plant for the Pilsner brewery. We bought the dilapidated building from the original owner, Ferdinand Jiskra, who at the age of 84 oversaw the first batch of Zlatá kráva beer brewed. The semi-dark 13 Jiskra is now brewed in his honour.

Brewery area

On 3 December 2018, the renovated brewery, whose history dates back to 1876, opened to the public. The brewery, located under the Zelená hora castle, is dominated by a 1000l brewhouse. It also includes a chalet, a lounge and the original vaulted lager cellars and storerooms. Annual production is 2500 hl. In the brewery we brew bottom and top fermented beers and specials, which are bottled in 20 l, 30 l and 50 l glass bottles and kegs.

CORPORATE EVENTS, WEDDINGS

The brewery is suitable for various events. Organize a corporate event, a wedding, a celebration or a class reunion and enjoy the newly renovated industrial brewery in the quiet Nepomuk. You can take advantage of our facilities, catering, accommodation, wellness and beer baths and we will organize an accompanying program such as brewing beer, brewery or farm tours, or we will organize a turnkey event for you. Excursion to the brewery Zlatá kráva

Get to know the uniqueness of our brewery. Within 60-90 minutes we will show you around all the corners, introduce you to the history and you will taste the beer directly from the tank, which you will tap yourself.

Brew your own beer

Do you want to have your own beer? We will be happy to brew your original beer and help you with the recipe. Beer can be a suitable corporate gift for a company anniversary, a thank you gift for employees or as a Christmas present. You can also brew a beer with us as part of a teambuilding event.

Bespoke beer teambuilding

We will prepare a beer teambulding for you directly to measure. Get to know the harsh life of brewers and the associated daily work in the brewery, or brew your own batch of beer!
